I always use context when reading. If I see a preposition, that's always a dead give away. Like δια τουτο. That pronoun could be Nom. or Acc. But δια takes the genitive or accusative. That's definitely accusative and so "for this reason" or "so then" or a similar gloss. Hope that's helpful at some level.
